Abstract

In modern cardiology the determination of cardiac markers especially in the early diagnosis of ischemic heart disease (IHD) and also timely percutaneous intervention and coronary artery bypass grafting is very important. From the onset of ischemia to the development of myocardial necrosis the determination of cardiac markers during that period and their information content requires new methods for these categories of patients. Once a time creatinine kinase and its NB fraction were considered “the gold standard”, but its late appearance in the blood reduces its informativeness. Now the search for high- sensitive and specific cardiac markers continues. Today, troponins with high and ultrahigh sensitivity and specificity have an important significance in the early diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome. But, sometimes in different clinical situations the evaluation of troponins causes disagreements. That’s why in various clinical cases the assessment of troponins and highly sensitive troponins is of paramount importance.
